Through our strategic partnership with Bruker (Nasdaq: BRKR), we make proteomics globally accessible.THE OPPORTUNITYAs an IT System Engineer you will support the analysis, development and implementation of IT services and applications. You conduct customer analysis to identify IT Services that meet customer needs and provide innovative solutions to common problems. You make recommendations for the further development of the existing environment. You continue to support the ongoing operation of the IT infrastructure; server systems and applications based on them from end to end. While you will be employed by Biognosys AG with work location in Schlieren, you will become part of the Bruker Global IT Team and benefit from a very large network of IT professionals worldwide.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure for the organization to be in line with company guidelines or SOPs (standard operating procedures)
- Define customers’ needs and functionality in a service development cycle
- Assist in the coordination of various teams testing and evaluating the development of design and its implementation of the best output
- Install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
- Implement warranty and support activities
- Evaluate the existing systems and provide the technical direction to IT support staff
- Plan and implement system automation as required for better efficiency
- Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure high quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Deal with work processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools in the given projects for the successful accomplishments according to the requirements of the stakeholders
- Regularly work in projects or project-like work groups. Possibility to be temporarily deployed in the role of project manager, project member, and consultant
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree or allied field viz. degree
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure environments
- Experience with ITIL 4 Foundation, cloud computing and Linux
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
- Experience with various tools like Microsoft Azure, VMware, PRTG Enterprise Monitoring, Ansible, NetApp, and Synology NAS storage systems are of great advantage
- Solid scripting skills (e.g., Microsoft PowerShell, shell scripts, sh, bash, csh, tcsh)
- Working knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling
- Experience with back-up and recovery measures for all critical systems preferably with Veeam
- Pro-active, creative, responsible, and flexible nature
- Solution-oriented team-player who is seeing change and constructive feedback as an opportunity
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English language; German is a plus but not required
