As Scrum Master, you are a servant leader and coach for an Agile team who facilitates team events and processes, and supports teams and ARTs in delivering value. Your primary responsibility as a Scrum Master is to ensure that the Scrum process is properly understood, followed, and continuously improved. You will help the team understand and implement Scrum principles, practices, and ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Overall you will play a crucial role in enabling the team to work efficiently, deliver high-quality increments, and embrace the Agile principles of flexibility, adaptation, and continuous improvement.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating Scrum/Team Events: Ensure proper planning, organization, and facilitation of Scrum/Team events.

  • Prepare and Support PI Planning: Assist in creating a draft PI plan and collaborate with other SM/TCs and RTE during PI planning.

  • Support the ART in delivering value: Coordinate with other teams and work within the ART's cadence.

  • Coach and Guide the Scrum Team: Provide guidance on Scrum practices, self-organization, and achieving goals.

  • Promote Quality Practices: Encourage and guide the team in improving the quality of deliverables and meeting the Definition of Done.

  • Remove Obstacles: Identify and remove obstacles/impediments hindering the team's progress.

You foster collaboration and create a collaborative and empowering team environment, facilitating effective collaboration among stakeholders. You monitor progress and metrics by tracking the team's progress and interpret relevant metrics for continuous improvement. You champion transparency by creating an environment of transparency and openness to raise awareness and identify areas for improvement. You demonstrate servant leadership by supporting the team's needs, facilitate growth, and exemplify Agile and Scrum principles.

You bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • Deep understanding of the Scrum framework, including roles, artifacts, events, and their interdependencies.

  • Familiarity with Agile principles and values that underpin Scrum, emphasizing collaboration, iterative development, and continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in facilitating effective meetings, workshops, and discussions using various techniques to encourage participation, foster collaboration, and drive decision-making.

  • Ability to coach and mentor team members, product owners, and stakeholders in Agile practices and Scrum processes, guiding them towards self-organization, continuous improvement, and high performance.

  • Competence in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges within the team or with stakeholders, facilitating constructive conversations and finding win-win solutions.

  • Preferably you hold at least one Scrum Certification like scaled certification (SAFe 5, SCRUM Master), PSMI, AGILE PM, etc.

You possess knowledge of relevant metrics and reporting techniques to monitor team progress, velocity, and other performance indicators. You have familiarity with continuous improvement practices, such as retrospectives, to drive team learning, adaptability, and optimization. You are proficient in using Agile tools and techniques that support Scrum practices, such as Kanban boards, burndown charts, and collaborative platforms. You understand change management principles and practices to navigate and facilitate organizational transitions towards Agile and Scrum.
