We are recruiting an Executive Chef to join our Kitchen Team.

Job Description:

You will report to the Director of Food & Beverage.

The Executive Chef's mission will be to contribute, day after day, to the proper functioning of his/her department in accordance with Mandarin Oriental directives and standards and local customs.

Major responsibilities 

  • To implement and maintain Food Production standards which are cost effective and tailored to meet changing guest eating trends.
  • To inspire and empower employees in the kitchen to provide efficient, superior food and service to guests. She/He controls on day-to-day operation the good follow up on our FLHSS standards.
  • To control all orders made and manage costs.
  • To control the delivery of goods, quality, freshness, quantity and costs
  • Effective people management in order to maximize the potential and effectiveness of staff
  • To collaborate with the other Chefs de Cuisine / Sous-Chefs of the various points of sale (restaurants, in room dining, Bar, Banqueting)
  • To supervise colleagues’ journey (schelude, time management, vacation, learning and developpement)

Job Requirements:

  • French & English fluently, another language a plus !
  • Ideally 10 years experience in a 5-star hotel and minimum of 2 years in the same position.
  • Preferably already in a position within a luxury hotel in Geneva, in Switzerland or in Europe.
  • Impeccable professional image combined with good ethics and values
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Driven for results
  • Creative, focused and flexible
  • Possess strong leadership attributes
  • Detailed oriented
