Business Intelligence Analyst

At Tetra Pak we commit to making food safe and available, everywhere; and we protect what's good – protecting food, protecting people, and protecting the planet. By doing so we touch millions of people's lives every day. And we need people like you to make it happen.

Job Summary

Are you a person who gets inspired by exploring data? Are you someone who can inspire others to consider courses of action they hadn’t previously thought of? Are you a person who thrives in collaboration with people? Well, we want you!

As our new Business Intelligence Analyst, you will join our Data & Analytics team supporting Tetra Pak global Procurement organization. Our bread-and-butter is to serve the Supplier management categories with accessible, useful, and actionable data to help them reduce cost, secure supply, optimize quality, ensure compliance and not the least – to drive sustainability improvements within our globally spread supplier base.
This position could be based anywhere globally in one of our Tetra Pak locations.

What you will do and get

  • Daily problem-solving to enable efficient and effective support for both current and future business challenges.
  • Daily interaction with colleagues in a truly multi-cultural and multi-dimensional supplier management organization.
  • Lots of opportunities (and expected ;-)) to take initiative and suggest new ideas of how to deliver value.
  • A business intelligence landscape where you’ll work with modern BI tools such as Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects and KNIME, etc.
  • Development of BI skills and variety of development opportunities.
  • Be part of a small, non-hierarchical team with an opportunity to impact our future journey.
  • Enjoy working in an ever-changing and fast-moving organization with world-class digital ambition.
  • Specialize in exploring and collecting data, preparing it for analysis and developing visualizations that transform the data into understandable, actionable, and inspirational insights, and enable our stakeholders to make fact-based decisions.
  • Use data to tell the story of what’s happening in the business today and in the future

Other things you will do...

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify critical data necessary for informed decisions.
  • Drive standardization and automation of data collection, consolidation, and analysis processes.
  • Actively participate in IT development projects related to analytics enhancements.
  • Contribute to designing and implementing data-driven solutions.
  • Provide timely support to end-users within the Supplier Management community.

We believe you have

  • A university degree in Data/Information Science, Economics, Business administration or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience, preferably from Procurement or as a Citizen data scientist.
  • Experience from working with SAP HANA Studio, KNIME or similar data preparation tools.
  • Experience from working in Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects or other similar reporting tools.

As a person you enjoy speed in all the above and rather try and fail, than wait for the perfect moment! You proactively seek out new ideas and opportunities to create value, always prioritizing the best interests of customers, with intuition for both the broader context and the critical details that matter.  You have an excellent analytical mind, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to explore new techniques and tools to do things in a smarter and better way.

A typical day....
After having connected, either from a Tetra Pak office or from at home, you dive into one of the team’s prioritized activities to figure out how to best solve a request to create insight on one of the category’s current challenges. You take a remote meeting with the category manager to discuss the details of their challenge and what they would like to be able to do differently. Knowing your data, you have an idea on how to help, so when disconnecting from the meeting you go straight to work to look for patterns, conclusions, and insights. While working you come to think of recent learning experience that you would like to try out on how to use the tools even better. So, you try it out and either it proves to be more effective than earlier, or it doesn’t. Most important thing is that you tried, and that you learned in the process!

After quickly bouncing ideas with a team colleague, you now have some alternative suggestions on how to solve the problem, so you connect with the category manager again to demo the solution. If the solution is confirmed to be effective, the solution is planned to be industrialized in a report so that other category managers can also benefit from the intelligence continuously.

After a lunch break, including a visit to the gym, you and a team colleague continue your investigation on finding out how raw material forecasts from external data providers can be used to alert category managers about future price drops and prepare for an upcoming negotiation. Due to your swiftness to pick up business questions and translate them into data-based answers, you are a frequently used resource to prepare and to directly participate in the negotiation, to swing discussions in our favor using facts.

We Offer You

  • A variety of exciting challenges with ample opportunities for development and training in a truly global landscape
  • A culture that pioneers a spirit of innovation where our industry experts drive visible results
  • An equal opportunity employment experience that values diversity and inclusion
  • Market competitive compensation and benefits with flexible working arrangements
